Founded by Philip Peters, Quiet Room was produced by Paul Draper of the Sleepers from 1980 to 1983 and recorded on WIN Records. .. Quiet Room started out playing shows with The Sleepers, Romeo Void, Half Church, Group 87 and The Start. Soon we shared the bill with Duran Duran, REM, Echo and the Bunny Men, Gang of Four, The Fall and The Stranglers just to name a few. The show with Duran Duran at the Ibeam was on their first trip to the US.
